Apple releases iOS 18, iPad OS 18, and macOS Sequoia public betas with many new features


A week after releasing the third developer beta of its forthcoming major iOS and iPadOS update, Apple has announced the release of the iOS 18 and iPadOS 18 public betas, along with the macOS Sequoia public beta. These updates are scheduled for a full release later this autumn.

iOS 18 introduces Apple Intelligence, various customisation options for home screen layouts, and enhancements to the Photos, Mail, Maps, Notes, and Safari apps. It also includes support for RCS messaging, a new Passwords app, a Game Mode, and redesigned privacy and security settings.

iPadOS 18 features Apple Intelligence, improvements to the Notes, Safari, and Photos apps, a new calculator app, Game Mode, extensive customisation options, a new Passwords app, SharePlay, and Freeform, among other features and improvements.

macOS Sequoia also incorporates Apple Intelligence, enhanced iPhone-Mac integration, improved window tiling, a new Passwords app, and gaming enhancements. The update further refines the Notes, Maps, Photos, and Safari apps.
